I would like to personally thank all the members and volunteers of all local Volunteer
Fire Departments and Rescue personel in Anderson County. I know alot of people overlook what these people do for this county
and the people in it. At 3 a.m. and your house is on fire in the middle of Bricevile, Marlow, Medford, Claxton, Andersonville
and all points inbetween these people get out of there warm beds and come to your aide and yet ask nothing in return, Or on
a cold rainy night and you lose control of your car and crash you can bet your boots that the Anderson County Rescue Squad
is going to come to your most terrible situation.
They do these things because they want to not because they have too, And yet there are
some people out there who call them beggers and other names because they ask for a donation every now and then. But the sad
thing is you scoff at them when they inconvenience you by asking you to go around a location or wait while they do there job.
I have to say this to you and you know who you are. You need a good old fashion ass kicking because if it was you in need
of help your gonna need these Men and Women who unselfishly come to your aide no matter what the situation and risk there
lives and wellfare to save others. At times they are unappreciated and suffer a lot of verbal abuse from people who "Think
they know what they are talking about" and those people who get your tongue lashing stand there straight faced and take it.
As I wrap up here I want to say this, The next time your driving through Anderson
County and see those flashing red lights at a Fire or Crash Please if you see them out or near tell them thank you. I am sure
that will make them feel a little more important. Another thing you can do is a friendly wave as you see them driving down
the road i know it dont sound like a whole lot but it might make them feel like they matter to you because they damn sure
matter to me.
And before someone starts complaing , No Fire Department or Rescue Squad Asked me to write this
as a matter of a fact they dont even know i put this here so you wanna complain about something maybe i pegged you and made
you angry well............. GOOD. IF you are one of the formentioned I hope you get mad at me. I dont really care if you get
mad. I have made people mad before so i hope you dont feel any more important than anyone else but if you wanna shed some
tears at me send me an e-mail ill be glad to read it take it into consideration and then put it into my neat little paper
shredder, Who's name is Maya by the way a very Loyal friend of mine who loves to shred paper into a million pieces. So have
